I get quite a few e-mails asking me how an artist gets featured on the site. The way it works is, you leave a comment on the site, mentioning you or your group, and then you email the music and if it fits the site ,we do a feature on you. Another way people get on the site is through some of the artists turn me on to another artist and then we put them on. I go through the web all day, looking for new music to put on the site, you know, before other people hear it. When I hear something that blows me away, and I think it might blow up,  I want to be the one to say “I was the first to hear that”. Beatmistress Cait was introduced to me through the artist Vaerna and I liked what I heard. She’s was born in Philly, and then moved to Ireland. I think it’s awesome how small the world has gotten when I can talk to a person around the world, share music with each other and everything that comes with that.

She’s been around a long time, from the time of Disco circa 1970s. The magazine “Bitchslap” did an article on her and it was great. Good writing.  Anyway, it’s all about the music, so listen to the tracks, let us know what you think, and here are a few words from Cait .

Here is some of the gear she works with. At present i am using an older sony vaio laptop and ableton live7 with a faderfox midi controller (still haven’t got that working properly) and i just tinker, learn as i go kind of deal. i’m only just starting my own notation/writing with simple drum, percussion and bass tracks..i make beats the way i deejayed by sampling any and every sound i can get my hands on, i suppose the next logical bit of hardware should be a midi keyboard. at present i consider myself more of a ‘sample technician’ than anything else. making beats is my hobby and no one could be more surprised than me that people actually listen to it!
